Comics to crush it at Desi Fest

South Asian comedians stop in Saturday at Muscardini Cellars|

Things are about to get funny in Wine Country. That’s the plan, at least, for the latest Crushers of Comedy show taking place Saturday, Aug. 13 at Muscardini Cellars. This time the yuks will be courtesy the Desi Comedy Fest, which bills itself as the “largest South Asian Comedy Festival in the Country.”

Multiple comics will pass the microphone from 7 to 9 p.m., including Monrok, the Australian-born daughter of immigrants from India, who’s traveled extensively in France and now reside in Los Angeles. I’m “Australian by birth, American by location and French by cold, judgmental heart,” says Monrok. Also taking the stage will be Kevin Munroe, who joined the comedy circuit “because while standup is still mostly guys, at least there’s beer.” Also on the bill is Chicago-based comic Sabeen Sadiq, who’s appeared with Second City and at the Laugh Factory.

Tickets, $25 general. Grub from the Tri-Tip Trolley available at 5:45 p.m. 9380 Sonoma Highway in Kenwood. Check out crushersofcomedy.com.
